Privacy Policy for Sellers
This policy explains how AJIOKART handles personal information when you use the seller portal, sell through AJIOKART, or connect an approved selling channel.
Questions? Contact sellers@ajiokart.com.
1. Scope and purpose
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the AJIOKART seller portal, seller account, dashboard, seller storefront and supersite tools, AJIOKART marketplace listings, order and payment services, support services, and approved WordPress, WooCommerce, or Shopify integrations.
It applies to sellers, authorised seller users, prospective sellers, buyers whose information is made available for order fulfilment, and visitors to seller-facing pages. The Terms of Use govern your use of the services; this policy explains our privacy practices.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information generated by your use of the services, and information received from authorised integrations or service providers. The exact information depends on your account, products, and selling activity.
- Account and contact information, including your name, business name, email address, mobile number and country code, account credentials, and communication preferences.
- Business and verification information, including business address, GSTIN or exemption details, tax or business identifiers where required, bank account and payment details, authorised-signatory details, and identity, address, or business documents.
- Catalogue and selling information, including brand details, SKUs, product titles, descriptions, images, specifications, prices, MRP, inventory, variants, packaging details, shipping information, categories, and market-channel settings.
- Order and customer information required to complete a sale, including order and invoice details, buyer contact and delivery information made available to you, cancellations, returns, disputes, and support history.
- Technical and usage information, including IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, referral information, timestamps, cookies, analytics identifiers, and service logs.
- Communications with AJIOKART, including support requests, feedback, notices, and records of important account or policy communications.
3. How we use information
- Create, secure, verify, and manage seller accounts and authorised users.
- Provide seller storefronts, marketplace access, catalogue tools, product integrations, orders, shipping, payments, settlements, analytics, and support.
- Validate business, tax, bank, brand, product, and identity information where required.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, policy violations, and illegal activity.
- Send transactional messages, service notices, policy updates, and requested marketing communications.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, audit, record-keeping, and regulatory obligations.
- Measure, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the reliability, security, and usefulness of the services.
4. Legal bases for processing
We process information to perform the seller agreement and provide requested services, comply with applicable law and tax obligations, protect legitimate business and security interests, and, where required, obtain and honour your consent. You may withdraw a consent-based choice without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. How information is shared
We share only the information needed for the relevant purpose with the following recipients:
- Buyers and seller users who need order, product, or account information to complete authorised business activity.
- Logistics, courier, pickup, warehousing, and delivery partners involved in fulfilment.
- Payment providers, banks, financial institutions, tax partners, and settlement service providers.
- Marketplace, storefront, WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, and other approved channel or integration partners selected by the seller.
- Hosting, analytics, communications, security, customer-support, and other service providers acting for AJIOKART.
- Professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement agencies, or other authorities when required or permitted by law.
- A successor or authorised recipient in connection with a merger, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. Connected stores and third-party services
When you connect a WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, or other approved store, you authorise the exchange of the catalogue, order, account, and operational information needed for that integration. The third-party service may process information under its own terms and privacy policy.
You are responsible for having the required rights and notices for information sent through an integration, for protecting integration credentials, and for reviewing the permissions granted to each connected service. Disconnecting an integration stops future synchronisation but does not erase information already lawfully processed.
7. Cookies and analytics
AJIOKART and our service providers may use essential cookies, authentication and security technologies, preference storage, and analytics tools to operate the portal, remember settings, understand usage, and improve performance.
You can control cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling some cookies may prevent sign-in, dashboard, analytics, or other features from working correctly.
8. Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the services, maintain an active seller account, resolve disputes, protect security, and meet legal, tax, accounting, and record-keeping obligations. Order, payment, and business records may be retained for the period required by applicable law.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it where practicable. Information retained in secure backups or logs may remain until it is overwritten or no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected.
9. Security and seller responsibilities
AJIOKART uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Sellers must protect account credentials, limit access to authorised personnel, use strong passwords and available security controls, keep business and bank details current, and use buyer information only for legitimate order and support purposes. Report suspected unauthorised access promptly through the support contact below.
10. Your privacy choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of personal information. You may also withdraw a consent-based choice or update communication preferences.
We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where required for an order, payment, tax, security, dispute, fraud-prevention, or legal purpose.
11. Children and vulnerable users
The seller services are intended for adults and businesses. Do not provide personal information of a person under 18 unless you are legally permitted to do so and the information is necessary for a legitimate order or business purpose. If we learn that information was collected in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete or restrict it.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when services, technology, business practices, or legal requirements change. The updated version will show a new last-updated date and, where appropriate, will be notified through the seller portal, email, or dashboard.
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact the seller support team at sellers@ajiokart.com.
